Change a Member Profile
Tutorial Version
By changing your member profile you can alter previously entered information or add additional information to your profile. Adding additional information to your profile helps the site to more effectively match site resources to your interests; also, in the future, you can choose to make aspects of your profile public so that you will appear in the Inquiry user directory.
Please keep in mind that the information you provide is solely for the purpose of improving your access to Inquiry resources and will never be released to organizations other than the Inquiry Page and its Partner Projects. Also, in order to make knowledge more readily available to our users, users becoming members of the IP are also automatically made members of the DKRC, or Distributed Knowledge Research Collaborative, a partner project of the IP.
From any page:
- Click on the orange tab, "Change Profile", located on the banner. You are now at the page containing the membership form. Follow the steps below to change your member profile.
From the membership form:
- You are now at the point where you can change your profile. The same form you filled out when becoming a member automatically appears on the screen. Fill in or update any of the fields, keeping in mind that the required fields (marked with red asterisks) must remain filled in.
- If you wish to change your password, use a password that is easy for you to remember. (In the case of a forgotten password, there is a function on the Inquiry Log-in page that will remind you almost immediately.)
- If you wish to unsubscribe from any of the mailing lists, simply unclick the box to the left of the list(s) from which you wish to be removed. Once you submit the form you will be automatically removed from the list(s).
- Look over the information to make sure it is correct. If not, you can scroll down and click the "Reset" button for a clean form or simply individually edit the field that needs to be corrected.
- Scroll down and click the "Submit Button". A page will automatically appear telling you that you've successfully changed your profile.
