Why Join the Inquiry Page

Professional/Educator

Judy

Q: Why would a Professional/Educator want to use the Inquiry Page?

A: Judy, Associate Superintendent of Schools at the Diocese of Galveston-Houston, plans to make use the Inquiry Page during a series of professional development classes she is currently developing for inner-city teachers.

As an Associate Superintendent, Judy and her colleagues recently received a grant for professional development for the teachers at their fifteen inner-city schools.

This grant will be used for a series of professional development classes, which are being implemented for a number of reasons:

  • In order for the teachers to learn to use technology in developing problem-based units for their children.
  • In the hopes that they will raise the standardized test scores of the students in the fifteen inner-city schools of their diocese. (Their scores are much lower than students in the diocese's other thirty-one schools.)

During these classes the teachers will be able to:

  • Use the Inquiry Page.
  • Become members.
  • Explore the different units that have been written.
  • Use as models any helpful units they find.
