Encouraging group efforts to create/edit Inquiry Units

• Inquiry Unit coauthors can edit the Unit when their email addresses are listed in the coauthor email columns. The email address of coauthor in old Units does not work for this function. To use this co-editing function, the Unit author should put coauthor's email address in the right place.

Add user's comment on Inquiry Units

• Inquiry Unit authors can choose to include user's comment on the Unit.
• After login, Inquiry Unit viewers can add their comments on the Unit.

Minor Unit/Event display changes

• Extra spaces in the Unit add form and display have been reduced.
• When no item on the inquiry process category has selected, the category is no longer displayed.
• Inquiry Unit add form has separate buttons to access help for each step, FAQs, and help directory.
• Year display for event calendar has been corrected.
• Link to spell check web site is provided on the add/edit unit form.
• On the Unit search page, link to your own unit is added. The link will appear only after you log-in.

Image gallery

• To help users easily put the GIFs to their Units, small image gallery is added in FAQs. The images include arrows, star, and movie icons.
• Along with the image, the HTML codes are provided. Users can copy and paste the codes to their Unit to include those images.

Centers of Activities

• Centers of Activities are added to 'About Us' section.
• Each center has its own emailing lists for public discussion (center_all) and for small group developmental discussion (center_members).
• Users can join each center using their member profile options or sending email to the leader of the center.

Site meter

• Site meter was added at the bottom of the page. It is powered by www.sitemeter.com. Since Nov 4, 2001, we have had 11020 visitors, and 94437 pages have been browsed. (Jan 20, 2002)

New features of Version 1.2

Based on users' comments, new features are implemented into Inquiry Page version 1.2. The new features include (as of September 9, 2001)

Enhanced help documents

• Interactive web version and printable PDF version of Inquiry Page tutorials are made for novice users.
• Frequently Asked Question lists are also added to Help.

Inquiry Unit search

• Experimental visualized search is included as alternative search engines.
• Inquiry Unit search results show the Unit's author, modified date, and ready-to-use option as well as the Unit title.
• Inquiry Unit search results can be ordered by spin-off, author, or date. Default display option is by spin-off units.
• Users can search only ready-to-use units.

Add an Inquiry Unit

• Before adding an Inquiry Unit, users have to log-in first.
• Inquiry Unit has new options of 'ready to use'/'not ready to use' and 'users' feedback'.
• Inquiry Unit generates automatic hyperlinks so that users do not have to type in HTML tags to have hyperlinks.
• Uploaded files are stored in the sub-directory of each Inquiry Unit.
• Uploaded files can be deleted by the author.

User's feedback on the Inquiry Page

• Automatic feedback collection scheme is implemented.

Inquiry Event search

• All events are automatically divided into 'current' and 'past' events. Users can search either current events or past events.

Member Profile

• If the users want to use a different email address for login process, they can do so by 'Change Profile' option.

Quote of the Day

• Web-based quote submission scheme is implemented.

• More Partner Projects and Inquiry in Action pages have been added.
