9:30-10:00 a.m. Inquiry Testimonials
Teachers share what "inquiry" means in their classrooms.
10:00-11:30 a.m. Sessions A & B
Each session lasts 40 minutes. The sessions are repeated so that there will be an opportunity to attend both sessions.
  Session A: Dr. Cheryl Malone (GSLIS)
"Investigating Government Information: Where to Begin?"
In this hands-on session, you will create inquiry units that explore the many potential uses of government information in K-12, undergraduate and graduate-level classrooms; in library instruction programs; and in your own research projects.
  Session B: Dr. Christine Jenkins (GSLIS)
"Inquiry-Based Book Discussions: Investigating Multiple Meanings of Texts"
This session will introduce you to the basics of creating and facilitating an inquiry-based book discussion as well as criteria for selecting appropriate books for discussion. You will also have an opportunity to participate in an inquiry-based book discussion.

Discussion 1 - "Assumptions About Learning"
Discussion 2 - "Making Inquiry Happen"
3:15-4:00 p.m. Session C: Dr. Katherine Ryan (College of Education)
"Assessment Issues in an Inquiry Classroom"
This session will introduce and discuss accountability and defensibility issues of inquiry curriculum for teachers, administrators, and parents.
4:00-4:45 p.m. Reflection Jenny Robins (GSLIS)
"The Inquiry Page Collaboratory"

Workshop Wrap-up
  The workshop ends at 4:45, but we invite you to join us as we view and discuss the first of the Annenberg Video Series on Inquiry from 5 - 7:00 p.m.

Juna Snow will moderate the workshop program.
